Buffalo Bike – Pinstriping by Letterfly
It all started with the buffalo bike. I recalled being in a crowded parking lot, surrounded by motorcycles and one sight stopped me in my tracks. As I looked out over the sea of bikes, one machine stood out with no shine, no sparkle and nothing in common with the rest. I did a double-take. The motorcycle that piqued my interest was completely covered with brown shaggy fur and the stuffed head of a buffalo mounted on the front. I was thrilled and drawn in to look closer. I asked Ron, the owner, if I could sit on his bike…

Since then, they have been offering only the best independently produced motorcycle movies and have taken over the social media world by storm. Bitchin’ Big Wheels for Baggers
We Check Out Metalsport Inc. There are some companies whose products can really add an outstanding custom look to a bagger, yet most riders don’t know much about them. Metalsport is just such a company; they make super sharp looking large diameter billet wheels. Granted there are other people that make large diameter wheels, but only few do it like Metalsport; their billet wheels are true one-piece creations. Having seen their wheels on many custom bikes, we decided to give you a close-up view of just how they make them. Located in a rather non-descript building out east of Los…

Readers Ride – Megan Rodgers’ Super Sexy Sportster Chopper
Like you who are reading these words, Megan Rodgers of Charleston, South Carolina, lives to ride. Her passion for two wheels began thanks to her brother in-law, who rides and builds motorcycles. Megan caught the bug and started working at a shop called America Biker. She’d like to thank Rich Worley down at American Biker for helping her live her motorized dreams. Megan’s first bike was a T125 Suzuki two-stroke. That bike led to a Honda CB350 and a whole bunch of other bikes over the years. Her first Harley was the cool custom Sportster you are lookin’ at on…

Spyke and Mike New Year’s Resolutions
“Woohoo, it’s 2021! Mike and I are both looking forward to 2020 being over, my BTR friends. It's that time of year for us to put up or shut up. Declare resolutions, make changes, be goal driven and pay bills on time. OR, just lay on the couch watching TV, accepting the New Year and the new Covid strain as both unfold before us.” Mike breaks in, “That’s easy for you to say and do my feathered friend, Spyke. You’re Covid-proof, so what else do you have to worry about? Resolutions? You're already the best bird out there. Okay, well…

Get off your ass, America!

Get off your ass, America!
Here we are finally in the new year of 2021. Everyone I’ve seem to run into is hopeful that this year will be way better than the last. But as we all know, the old saying says hindsight is 2020 but we look forward to, and are hopeful for, a new and more optimistic 2021. Unfortunately, it appears that the year designation does not seem to change many of the concerns that we as a people have about the outlook of our country. Anyone who knows me knows that I try not to speak about politics, or anything of that…

A Spyke & Mike Christmas
It's that joyous time of year, my Born To Ride friends. Just be safe and careful. Most of all, be responsible and do like Mike did, to a point. I'll let him explain. Mike says, “Thanks for putting me on the spot, Spyke. Everyone, please be aware of your surroundings this holiday season. I went to a Christmas party and happily joined in on the festivities. I had a few beers, a few shots, and a few Holiday drinks. Thus getting very intoxicated. But, before becoming totally inebriated and making a fool of myself, I realized that I was over…

Be The Change – Nefarious James
I sit here writing this article from a back porch of a friend’s home in the country, my scooter parked in the driveway ready to go, watching a beautiful woman taking a shower while her Doberman growls in my ear. What a life. It’s finally come down to the end of the year with the start of a new year right around the corner and I have to say it’s about damn time. I reflect back on 2020 with vision of 30/30 and I have to say it’s been quite the eye-opener. We all go through tough spots in our…

Readers Ride – Painkiller
Rich Pitoniak’s Shovelhead Calling Card No less of a motorcycle legend than Mondo Porras of Denver’s Choppers calls Rich Pitoniak “Shovelhead Rich.” A lifelong biker and machinist by trade, Rich is a long time mechanic and passionate gearhead out of Westfield, Massachusetts. “Painkiller” is the name of Rich’s dazzling 1967 Shovelhead chopper seen here, a bike he’s owned for 25 years. The scooter has been reincarnated a few times in different frames, but when Rich started his business, Pitoniak's Custom Cycles in 2004, he wanted to build a bike to be a calling card for his shop. And what a calling…
