AmeriCAN

AmeriCAN
Here we go for July. Of course the big celebration in July is, of course, the 4th. On July 4th,1776 the Continental Congress formally adopted the Declaration of Independence, which had been written largely by Thomas Jefferson. Though the vote for actual independence took place on July 2nd, 1776. July 4th became the day that was celebrated as the birth of American independence. In plain English, it’s America’s Formal Birthday as a country. So how is our 246-year -old country doing? Well, that’s subjective I suppose. I would say that can be stated for the condition of our entire planet. Hard…

The Clock is Ticking…
I’m not gonna waste any time getting to the point. With the way things have been going with our country and the citizens of this country’s mentality, it’s extremely evident we have a problem. Again, our rights are under attack on multiple fronts, and we are allowing it to happen. This past month we’ve had more horrific events taking place committed by our own people against our own people. Again, our Second Amendment rights are under attack. All of this due to the act of another mentally disturbed individual. Every time there’s a shooting with mass casualties, the anti-gun crowd comes…

REMEMBER OUR SENIORS – Nefariuos James
I think this time we’re just going to get to the meat and potatoes of the topic. I think it’s very admirable to have celebrations of life for those that meant something to us. A way to honor their memory, their achievements, and their impact on others. To me, it’s a form of being able to say my last goodbye even though I will always keep those people in my memory. There’s a saying I heard a long time ago that a person is not truly gone until their name is spoken for the very last time. I’m a firm…

JUST BE REAL

JUST BE REAL
OK people here it comes. A quarter of the year is already gone. Time to start thinking about those New Year’s resolutions you made and whether you are sticking to them or not. I hope that many of you found success in accomplishing them; am I being optimistic? To those who are still on track and plugging away at those resolutions, good for you and keep up the good work. I know in some of my past writings I have rambled on about the way things used to be compared to the way they are now as well as my observations of…

A NICE BIG PUNCH IN THE FACE!

A NICE BIG PUNCH IN THE FACE!
Here we are in the month of March. Many events are coming up including Daytona Bike Week and other miscellaneous local festivities. Makes me reflect on how these events used to be in years gone by. Seems like there have been so many changes to these events in the name of progress, and I guess in a form of social evolution, that they don’t really seem to be the same as they used to be. I remember Daytona Bike Week as being more expressive and minds being more open to the social experience. A place where you used to be…

A Land of Sheep
Well, here we go with another month. I for one like to keep myself in the know, but unfortunately, I can get more accurate news watching the SYFY Channel. Pretty darn unfortunate, if you ask me. But as usual, it’s a sign of the times. I think back to the way it was, not to date myself, the 1970s and 80s. Different times and different outlooks by everybody. Hard to tell how far back in history you have to go to see how divided our great country has become. We’re living in a time of mass misinformation, and what appears…

Reflections, Resolutions, and Riding
Well congratulations ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, you have obviously made it to the year 2022. Imagine that! We have survived another year, another virus variance, the highest gas prices in history, food costs that are out of this world, and just life in general. As I’ve stated in previous articles, I hope that you have been enjoying your life as much as possible. I guess with my usual approach to a vision on life, I will remind you of the obvious and maybe open some insight into some things you may be wanting to forget. Now is the…

Ho, Ho, Frickin’ Ho! How Do You Choose To Spend The Rest Of Your Days?

Ho, Ho, Frickin’ Ho! How Do You Choose To Spend The Rest Of Your Days?
Hello everybody and welcome to the last month of 2021. I know a lot of people out there are saying, “It’s about time!” so we can try to move forward into a whole new year and a possible whole new outlook on where we are going. But as always, I may be here to burst those bubbles by letting you know that according to the news, we are looking at a new variant in this pandemic situation. With this new information, there’s always the possibility of a whole replay of 2020 and wondering what freedoms we will lose this time. …

Are You an Idiot? Nefarious James on Giving Thanks
Well, Yee-haw! Here we are in November. Almost the end of another year. So I sit here thinking to myself about the month of November. It happens to be the month that we celebrate Thanksgiving. A holiday for which we celebrate the obvious, and that is… thanks. It could be thanks for many things. Happenings that have gone on or just being thankful for being alive. Read any posts on social media and we will see how many people and loved ones others including ourselves lose every day. So that being said, take a moment and think about all of…

Think For Yourself – Nefarious James
Here we are in October and one of my favorite times of the year. Heading into fall with cooler weather, and of course, Halloween coming up. With colder weather moving in around the country, it’s time for some of us to start planning whether to winterize our bikes for the cold weather or to figure out what we’re gonna wear to stay warm. I for one ride all year round so I guess that doesn’t really apply to me. I know others that follow suit but we are fortunate with our weather down here in Florida. I think we are…

Don’t Believe Everything You Read
How in the world do we even know what to believe anymore? It unfortunately appears that we are surrounded with so much misinformation that it is hard to tell the truth from the lies and the fairytales. It’s like when you ask that new rider how long he’s been riding and he’ll either tell you he took his first cross-country trip on his 1947 knucklehead when he was younger or that he grew up riding dirt bikes. Then you watch him leave the parking lot, and he almost dumps his bagger on the ground. Hearing honesty out of people has…

Respect & Honor Starts at Home
Well, here we go with August. As always hot and miserable but we get out there and ride our bikes anyway. Time for Sturgis, road trips and parties that revolve around the idea of not being able to afford to go to Sturgis. We want to hold events praising America and stating how proud we are to be Americans, while at the same time, we have individuals out there disrespecting our country, troops, first responders and veterans. Organizations gathering out there that hold the belief that way to get respect is to be heard. Not by proper actions or popular…

GET YOUR MOTOR RUNNIN’!
It is unbelievable how fast this year is going by. But man, there’s some cool stuff on the way down the pipe. We are getting closer and closer to July 24. What’s going on July 24 you may ask? Well, it’s going to be the Great American Motofest in Plant City. This event has been groomed to be one hell of a premiere event that you are not gonna wanna miss. This is one of those motorcycle events that doesn’t come around often. There’s a little bit of everything for everybody. But I think the thing that’s going to be…

BE the Change and Think Motorcycle!
I had a nice happy little article all written up for this month, laced with my usual sarcastic banter. But as of the writing, I had to partake in yet another memorial for a young man who senselessly lost his life to a cage driver who was too busy with whatever it was he or she was doing to not pay attention to their surroundings. I can’t imagine anything being more important while behind the wheel than paying attention to the task of driving. Whatever activity it was that motorist was doing instead of watching the road, watching their fellow…

Get on that Bike and Ride!
Damn. A quarter of the year is already gone! Hopefully you didn’t waste any time! The weather is getting nicer, restrictions are loosening up, and events are starting to take place all around our beautiful state. If you listen to the rumor mill, it says we have a lotta really cool events coming up in the next couple of months for all of us to get out there on our bikes to enjoy. Along with all this beautiful weather we also have snowbirds still among us. Y’all know better than to slack on paying attention and keep an eye out…

Life is a Ride. Live it!
Hello again, everybody. Welcome to another edition of Nefarious James. No politics this month, no government talk, just plain old reflection. Had a really good time at the Thunder by the Bay event and its inclusion of Choppertown Live. Choppertown Live brought back a lot of personal memories for me. Seeing the old bikes and cars really sent me back to when I was growing up. Things were much simpler back then. No computers, it was safe to drink out of a garden hose, and lots of time spent outdoors. Didn’t really worry about getting sick from everything you touched…
