American Patriot’s On March 29th, I attended the Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Ceremony at the Sarasota National Cemetery. It was humbling to see the nine hundred (900) plus in attendance. Along with the Vietnam Veterans, there were wives and family members who supported them during their time ‘in country.’ Not enough is said about the support from families during the war in Vietnam. On Sept. 29, Smoky Mountain Harley Owners Group is co-hosting our 2nd Annual Car & Bike Show with WNC Wheels, a local car club. The main goal of the event is for us (Smoky Mountain H.O.G.) to raise funds in support of the Smoky Mountain Toy Run, which is a major contributor to Eblen Charities St. Nicholas Project. Last year, Smoky Mountain H.O.G. donated more than 150 bicycles to the cause for disadvantaged children. We have set a goal for ourselves of 200-250 bicycles this year. To my amazement not one word was spoken regarding anything to do with politics.
