  Tampa Chapter of Credit Unions Holds 9th Annual Cruise for Kids Motorcycle Poker Run Raises $65,000 for Donation to Local Children’s Charities   On Sunday, May 19th, a group of 350 big hearted bikers hit the roads throughout the Tampa Bay area to raise money for local children’s charities. Fifteen Hurlburt Special Forces Air Commandos are marching 455 miles this week from Hurlburt Field to MacDill in Tampa to raise awareness and raise money for the Special Warriors Foundation to assist the families and children of Fallen Heroes and to help with funding and college expenses for the children of the Fallen. They are requesting that the Patriot Guard Riders assist in escorting them to MacDill Air force Base in Tampa. Give Back Ride Sunday, December 1

Friends ... we had a great ride Sunday to the Joshua House. The Joshua House is a Residential Care Facility for abused, abandoned, and neglected children removed from their homes by law enforcement for their safety. They remain at the Joshua House until the judicial system decides what to do. Some of the children will go home but many remain in foster care indefinitely. As we arrived, we were greeted by many of the children as well as the local Corvette Club. We were given a tour of 1 of the 5 housing facilities recently remodeled by IKEA. The staff…

Blind or Misguided Reporting  Four years ago, I attended the John McCain Rally at Robart’s Sports Arena in Sarasota. Thursday I attended the Mitt Romney campaign at Ringling Art Museum in Sarasota. What I found to be interesting as I nestled myself among the mainstream media folks from local and national venues was the coverage.
