Senate Res. 154 also urges state law enforcement officials to condemn motorcyclist profiling in their policies and training materials. Senate resolutions do not have the force of law. As adopted, the resolution recognizes the significant increase in motorcycle registrations during the past 20 years and points out that half of the motorcyclists surveyed believe they have been…

One thing I have noticed over the years of riding is that you never know what’s going to happen five miles up the road, or sometimes before you even get out of the driveway! Life truly is, as described by Forest Gump’s mother in the movie “Forest Gump, “You never know what you’re going to get.” One day I had to visit a patient and decided to take the bike to his house as I knew he loved all things mechanical. I had just had the thousand-mile service performed but discovered when I went to get on the bike that…
When a serious car or motorcycle accident occurs, it is often a family member or significant other who is contacting an attorney on behalf of the injured party. While I hope neither you nor your family are ever in this situation, all motorists should share vital information with a trusted emergency contact to help ensure they’re adequately prepared in the event of an accident. Below is a list of information to keep up to date and share with your family member or significant other. 1. Medical Insurance: Provide your emergency contact with the name of your insurance company and your…
Ever since I was a child, I’ve always been intrigued by the account of the wise men in the New Testament book of Matthew 2:1-12, these magi (from the Greek term “magoi” meaning “wise men” or “learned ones”) who crossed a continent to visit and pay homage to the Christ Child. Even now, as a moto-traveler and part-time history teacher, the story and journey of these men is a yearly favorite of mine to read and reflect upon during this season. You probably know the story of how they showed up in Jerusalem not long after Jesus’ birth, inquiring as…
Kelly Vandever enjoyed riding on the back of her husband’s bike, but on a beautiful July day when she wanted to ride, her husband Rich, was out of town. That’s when she decided to learn to ride her own. Her first bike was a Honda Rebel she now rides a Harley-Davidson 883 Sportster Superlow. Since Rich likes to tinker with bikes, he made sure she had a comfortable seat and an easy clutch. Her first long trip with Rich and their friends Jim and Stephanie was quite an adventure! When they started out riding from Georgia to South Dakota, his…
Wow, what an opportunity that we’ve been presented here with the Master Bike Builder’s contest in Gibsonton, January 2019. They already have an existing event there, it’s been going on 16 years and there’s no other rally like it. We’re going to have a bike builders challenge. It happens during the Gibtown Bike Fest, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We’ve broken it out so it can be as fairly judged as it can because we want all the bike builders to compete on an equal plane. So we’re not just saying your bike’s gotta shine or you gotta have this or…
ProRider Atlanta The Ultimate Rider Course It is widely understood and acknowledged that motorcycle police officers are among the best trained and most proficient riders on the planet, in any country. The extensive and strenuous street training they undergo challenges the limits of man and machine. Very few police officers undertake the vigorous course. Fewer still successfully complete it. Yet those who do possess a skill level in riding virtually unknown to the rest of the motorcycling world. Ken Anderson is one of those elite riders. With over 30 years experience as a motorcycle officer, including hundreds of hours of…
Hey Ron and Deb, I'm beyond proud to announce the total of $20,000.00 raised for the Children's Home Network in Tampa, FL through our December 5th concert, auction, and GoFundMe donations. I humbly thank the performers, promoters, sponsors, and donators for hitting it out of the park for these kids in need. It was a chilly night in FL, but that didn't stop hundreds from showing up and being a part of this memorable event. I can't thank you all enough and wish everyone a safe and happy holiday! Bobby
