PASSING OTHER VEHICLES – Motorcycle Safety Foundation
Search: Traveling again along a two-lane state highway, you approach a slow-moving vehicle and make a decision to pass. Passing on a motorcycle is not substantially different than passing in a car, though (as is always the case on a motorcycle) taking steps to ensure your own visibility is more important when you are riding. Take every possible step to be sure the driver you are overtaking is aware of you. Evaluate: Make sure there is a good opportunity to pass. Check for oncoming traffic, and gauge whether or not there is sufficient clear roadway available to complete the passing…

Florida Cigar Club Report

We spoke with Mike Palmer the founder of the Florida Cigar Club about his passion for a good smoke and good company. Mike, tell us about the Florida Cigar Club? It all started in 2014, my wife told me to find a hobby. I was already an avid cigar smoker, so I decided to start a Facebook group called the Florida Cigar Club Lounge. It has grown…

(A secret from Mama!) June would slip off, saying she was going…

Maximum or Emergency Braking – MSF Motorcycle Safety Foundation
Stopping your motorcycle in the shortest possible distance is another valuable skill that street riders need. When an obstacle appears in front of you and swerving is not an option because there are no escape routes available (a piece of furniture falls off of the truck in front of you), then stopping becomes your only option to avoid a collision. The term “maximum braking” is used when both brakes are applied as firmly as possible without locking up either wheel, typically in an emergency situation. To achieve maximum braking, simultaneously squeeze the front brake and clutch levers, and press the…

Congratulations Jared Mees – 2017 Cycle News Rider Of The Year
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (December 19, 2017) - It doesn’t happen often – Cycle News choosing a dirt track racer as its Rider Of The Year.
