When My Focus is Right, My Ride Through Life is a Joy

When My Focus is Right, My Ride Through Life is a Joy
Years ago, when I decided to start riding again, I discovered that I had to take a riding course to get a certificate to get a motorcycle endorsement. I called around and found the opportunity to take a short refresher course with an instructor and then pass a riding test in order to get that necessary piece of paper.   During the refresher course, the instructor covered several basic riding truths, ideas that I had never known about in previous years. I had, in ages past, learned to ride a dirt bike and without further training, got a street bike…

Broken Wing Won’t Keep Us Down
Broken Wing Won’t Keep Us Down Hey there, my BTR friends, I must cackle that the last month-and-a-half has been a ‘not as planned’ unfortunate break from reality for us. I’ve been spending a lot more time than normal with Mike, and he doesn’t seem too happy about it. I wish I knew where the Fat Bird 2 was. I miss being on the backrest and riding with him down the road.   The last thing I remember is cruising on the Bayway and Mike avoiding a white SUV coming across his lane by going into the left turn lane.…

JP’s Ramblin’ On 8-19
I Wet My Pants on the way to Frazier’s Harley-Davidson Wait … that’s NOT what it seems. Yeah, I was excited, thinking about the “Christmas in July” sale, the pretty girls in bikini’s washing hogs, and of course the free hot dogs! Free food always gets me excited!   But it was that downpour of rain I rode into after merging onto GA 400, and up the road maybe a half-mile, that got me soaked! But that’s alright. I was dressed for success in my cutoff sleeveless t-shirt and patched up blue jeans. At least I was wearing my Harley-Davidson…

“Ted Nugent”
“Ted Nugent” By Night Train© Photos by Brown Photography   I cannot possibly think of a better date to write this feature than on the 4th of July. I still remember when I purchased my very first rock album; “Scream Dream” by Ted Nugent. This is back in the days when music was still engraved on vinyl or recorded on tapes. I was raised in a family of trained classical musicians. If it wasn’t “classical” music, it simply was not music. I can’t tell you how much I wanted an electric guitar! I had music inside me screaming to get…

Women’s World 8-19
Desiree Colonna The Healing Road   By Myra McElhaney At age 45 when Desiree Colonna lost her husband to suicide and was left with two teenage girls to raise, she felt lost. Reminded of her how she loved riding on her brother’s motorcycle as a teen, she took the MSF class to do something she’d always wanted for herself and to give her something new to focus on.   She passed the class the first time but wasn’t comfortable with the clutch and gears she signed up again. The instructor took extra time explaining that to her to make sure…
