A lot of HOG riders sometimes think that the ”V” in V-twin stands for vibration. This idea comes from the unique mechanical activity that takes place down in our bike’s drivetrain. First you have a couple of pistons and connecting rods moving up and down inside two cylinders. They are not operating in a completely balanced non-vibrating environment. This unbalanced motive power is sent to the transmission through a primary drive that uses a spring tensioned motor sprocket and chain drive assembly running back to the transmission. Checking Out Their 4-Valve Heads With the 2017 introduction of their Milwaukee-Eight motor, H-D finally stepped into the twenty-first century! The major reason for saying this is, that’s when they fitted their big-twin powered bikes with a completely new motor, which they named the Milwaukee-Eight. For the regular Softail and touring line-up, it displaces 107-cubic inches and in their CVO and performance bikes, it has 114-inches of displacement.
