American Patriot’s As a youngster, I skateboarded down the south side of the ‘new’ Desoto Bridge. That was back in the day when the boards were made of wood, about 18”x6” and had wooden wheels. On my ride down the bridge unencumbered by any traffic (imagine that) I reached the bottom and the wheels disintegrated leaving me with a road rash. As someone who has lived here for a while I personally feel it will not benefit those who travel the bridge to have a ‘fly’ anything (over or under) bridge built. If you need a new bridge build it,…

Andrea Dovizioso Finishes Sixth in the Argentina GP at the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit, with Jorge Lorenzo Fifteenth
The Argentina GP got off to a difficult start today as changeable weather conditions at the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit forced the Race Direction to delay the start after all the riders had lined up on the grid, and the distance to cover was reduced to 24 laps as a result. Andrea Dovizioso, who was starting from row 3, crossed the line at the end of the opening lap in seventh place, and then moved up to fifth by the mid-point. The Ducati Team’s Italian rider was then passed by the two Yamaha men and by Marquez but, thanks…

Mees Strikes Again at Atlanta Short Track
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (April 8, 2018) – The action leading up to Saturday night’s scheduled American Flat Track Main Event at the Harley-Davidson Atlanta Short Track presented by Hellbender Harley-Davidson pointed squarely to a wild, unpredictable affair with any of a dozen riders in with a realistic shot at the win. Instead, Mother Nature swept through with a storm system before that anticipated battle could be waged, pushing the remainder of the racing activities back a day at Dixie Speedway. And when racing did resume on Sunday afternoon, it was reigning AFT Twins presented by Vance & Hines champion Jared…

American Patriot’s On March 29th, I attended the Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Ceremony at the Sarasota National Cemetery. It was humbling to see the nine hundred (900) plus in attendance. Along with the Vietnam Veterans, there were wives and family members who supported them during their time ‘in country.’ Not enough is said about the support from families during the war in Vietnam. Without them, those serving would not have fared as well as we did. I want to personally thank those family members for those who served to protect us. The keynote speaker was General Henry H. It has been four very long years, but BTR made it back to the Isle of Man for the Tourist Trophy races. This time we made a short visit to Belfast, Ireland before we headed over for the action. The best part about traveling is learning new things about history and meeting interesting people. We met up with Gerard, our driver of the infamous Black Taxi cabs of Belfast. He drove us around to some amazing places and informed us of the political disputes and ‘The Troubles’ that started in the ’60s and how things are in Belfast today. Did…

Open Road Girl – Women’s World
Open Road Girl When Melinda Johnson was in her 20’s she rode on back of her boyfriend’s bike. When that relationship ended she was a single mom with two teenagers, working a full-time job, and various part-time jobs— such as cleaning offices and selling Avon and other direct marketing products. There wasn’t much time to think about riding, but she did miss it. Later when dating a new guy, she mentioned that she’d love to ride her own motorcycle and he said, “Why not?” They bought bikes together and then she signed up for the rider course. Melinda started riding…
