An Amazing Year-In-Review

As I’m writing this, I’m reflecting on what an astounding year 2018 was, both in motorcycling and in my own life. The memories, experiences, and stories come rushing back into my mind, and I’m grateful for each one. The MIC report that showed women riders in America is up to 19% is fantastic news, decades in the making. The “Give A Shift” initiative, among others, to encourage more people to take up motorcycling is showing signs of having a positive effect. Trying to determine the exact point where Mr. Bikefest was created is tricky. Ron was always an entertainer; he created a fun and welcoming atmosphere everywhere he went. US Senate Passes Motorcyclist Anti-Profiling Resolution The US Senate, in a rare unanimous decision, adopted a resolution December 12th, 2018 promoting awareness of motorcyclist profiling and encouraging collaboration and communication with the motorcycling community and law enforcement officials to prevent instances of profiling. Senate Res. 154 also urges state law enforcement officials to condemn motorcyclist profiling in their policies and training materials. Senate resolutions do not have the force of law. Changes made to sporting regulations, technical regulations for Junior Cup, Twins Cup PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- The American Motorcyclist Association has issued the 2019 regulations for MotoAmerica, the home of the AMA Superbike Championship, featuring changes to the sport regulations, as well as the technical regulations for the MotoAmerica Junior Cup and Twins Cup. U.S. Senate Passes Motorcycle Profiling Resolution The U.S. Senate unanimously passed Res. 154, a measure which "promotes increased public awareness of motorcycle profiling, encourages collaboration and communication with the motorcycle community and law enforcement to engage in efforts to end motorcycle profiling, [and] urges state law enforcement officials to include statements condemning motorcycle profiling in written policies and training materials."   Basically, the resolution declares that law enforcement should not treat citizens differently because they ride motorcycles or associate with motorcycle riders.
