PORKY’S – A NEW NAME AND A NEW BEGINNING
You’ve seen many articles in Born To Ride about David Taylor. David is an amazing restaurateur who had some great success in beautiful Apollo Beach with Shenaniganz. We’ve spent lots of time at Shenaniganz with David and his crew and now, we are pleased to tell you about his new business, Porky’s!
Located at 5813 N US Highway 41 in Apollo Beach, Porky’s is new and wonderful, featuring some outstanding BBQ and catering the biker and local communities in and around Apollo Beach. “I was really ready to stay at home more with my son and daughter. I had some set-backs with Shenaniganz last year; it was broken into and vandalized. I really didn’t want to get back into it again but was approached by a couple that knew how to make some great BBQ and cater to the bikers. I really missed that. So, I turned the reins over to a couple that had the same fire I had five years ago when I opened Shenaniganz.”
Like any party David throws, it’s going to be a good one! “I want to get back with the bikers again. So what better way to start new again than to have a Biker Grand Opening at Porky’s!” And that is exactly where Born To Ride comes into the picture.
If you’ve never had the opportunity to travel to beautiful Apollo Beach, then it’s probably a good idea for you to mark on your calendar Sunday, May 4—you will be busy that day at Porky’s! David has got a great day planned that will include food, drinks, music, vendor, and contests! “Starting at 10:30 a.m., we will be giving away of 500-pounds of BBQ (first come, first served), free beer (killing a keg) by Budweiser, other drink and food specials as well. We will have the ever popular Born To Ride Bike Show, vendors, and live high-energy rock bands. There will be something for everyone at this kickoff Biker Grand Opening Party!”

Born To Ride will be at Porky’s helping with this new launch off. Anything that has to do with bikers and BBQ has the attention of most bikers. David is taking the time to spend with his beautiful family while keeping his expertise and attention to business detail at the forefront. “I still have a major financial interest in Porky’s. I’ll still be there, but I’m going to be more in the background making sure that the two people running this will succeed. I can’t teach 20 years of bar/restaurant business in a couple of weeks. I’m good at hands-on experience. I will be there to help them be successful.”
