Back to the Isle of Man … and Beyond

It has been four very long years, but BTR made it back to the Isle of Man for the Tourist Trophy races. This time we made a short visit to Belfast, Ireland before we headed over for the action. American Motorcyclist Association Crowns National Champions at 2017 AMA Dirt Track Grand Championship

Twelve amateur and youth racers in 20 classes recognized as AMA National Champions PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- Twenty AMA National No. 1 plates were awarded July 4 at the AMA Dirt Track Grand Championship at Du Quoin (Ill.) Proposed 2018 Renewable Fuel Obligations Released

Total volume slightly smaller than 2017 PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- The proposed 2018 Renewable Fuel Standard volume requirements announced Wednesday by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency show a slight reduction from the 2017 obligations but do not reflect the agency's promise to listen to consumers, who have registered a low demand for higher ethanol blends, the American Motorcyclist Association reports. The EPA's proposed Renewable Volume Obligations call for 19.24 billion gallons of biofuel for 2018, down less than 1 percent from 19.28 billion gallons this year. July 4 holiday ranked as deadliest day for road users PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- The American Motorcyclist Association urges all road users to stay sober and exercise extreme caution over the Independence Day holiday and the preceding weekend. Statistics from the U.S. Department of Transportation show that an average of 122 people died in traffic crashes on July 4 each year from 2011 to 2015, making it the deadliest day of the year for road users. AMA Horizon Award re-named in honor of inaugural winner and 2006 MotoGP World Champion Nicky Hayden

PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- The American Motorcyclist Association's Horizon Award, which annually recognizes amateur competitors poised for greatness in the professional ranks, has been renamed in honor of the inaugural AMA Horizon Award winner in 1997, Nicky Hayden, who subsequently won the 1999 AMA Supersport Championship, the 2002 AMA Superbike Championship and the 2006 FIM MotoGP World Championship.
