VETERANS APPRECIATION WEEKEND
Rick’s 15-Mile Ruck Sack Walk to Raise Awareness & Funds for Operation Giveback during Orlando Harley-Davidson’s Veterans Appreciation Weekend
Orlando, Fla. — July 24, 2014 — Rick Brumby, a 53 year old Navy veteran and veteran’s advocate representing the Museum of Military History, will don fatigues and a 50 pound ruck sack and take to the streets to support OPERATION GIVEBACK.
At 7am on Saturday, July 26th, Rick will begin a 15-mile walk from East Orlando Harley-Davidson to the Orlando Harley-Davidson Historic Factory Dealership. He anticipates arrival by noon.
Rick uses Rucking as a vehicle to promote veteran’s causes, create awareness of Osceola County’s Museum of Military History, and teach young people the value of service while promoting the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle.
Rick’s 15-Mile Ruck Sack Walk is taking place in conjunction with Orlando Harley-Davidson’s Veterans Appreciation Weekend and our Veterans Ride & Rally on Saturday. For a $10 suggested donation to OPERATION GIVEBACK, motorcycle enthusiasts will enjoy an escorted scenic ride to the Orlando Harley-Davidson Historic Factory Dealership for a post-ride party featuring a patriotic performance by the Orlando Harley-Davidson Drill Team. The party also includes food and drinks, live music from 3 Ring Circus, a 50/50 raffle and parts swap meet. Ride registration begins at 8:30am at East Orlando Harley-Davidson OR Orlando Harley-Davidson South. All motorcycle makes and models welcome.
During the post-ride party, guests will be able to explore an interactive exhibit from the Museum of Military History and meet representatives from military support groups including OPERATION GIVEBACK, the USO, the American Legion and the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association.
OPERATION GIVEBACK is a 501c3 organization in Orlando that serves to raise awareness and resources for our wounded warriors, their families and the children of our fallen heroes.
