Published on January 31, 2014 under Born To Ride
PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- The Agricultural Act of 2014 passed by the U.S. House of Representatives on Jan. 29 contains a provision that would deter distribution of E15 fuels into the U.S. marketplace. The bill will be considered by the U.S. Senate next week before going to the president for his signature. The American Motorcyclist Association considers this provision a victory for the owners and riders of the estimated 22 million motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles currently in operation, which could be damaged by the use of E15 fuel (a gasoline formulation that contains up to 15 percent ethanol by volume). Marcus Luttrell Last week I wrote about the movie Lone Survivor and I would like to continue along those lines this week.   If you haven’t seen the movie I will give you advance warning it is “R” rated for violence and language. That is not a big surprise for those who have been there and done that. For those who have not, you may be offended by both.   After reading the book Lone Survivor back in 2007, a custom bike builder by the name of Jeri Exner of Clearwater spent nearly seven months building a motorcycle for Marcus…

Lone Survivor First of all here is my disclaimer prior to writing this column. I am by no stretch of the imagination a movie critic. Sue will tell you we have been to fewer movies than you can count on both hands, make that one hand in the 43 years we have been married. Now that I have that out of the way I want to expound on the movie ‘Lone Survivor’ which I saw Friday. As I sat awaiting the start of the movie along with 45-50 others (mostly my age or older) I became a little apprehensive as…

Published on November 12, 2013 under Born To Ride
PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- A federal task force is poised to recommend that all states have mandatory helmet laws for all motorcyclists, which the task force says would reduce injuries and deaths as well as result in economic benefits, the American Motorcyclist Association reports. The AMA has repeatedly expressed its belief that motorcyclists would be best served if regulators and legislators focus on programs to prevent motorcycle crashes from occurring in the first place.
