One week at Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches summer camp can be the turning point in a child’s life

Studies show that camp improves self-esteem and self-confidence in children, as well as teaches social skills. Campers learn teamwork and are encouraged to share their ideas and try new things!

Our camp includes all the traditional activities—canoeing, archery, high ropes, swimming—as well as one very important and unique addition: Law Enforcement Officers.

The theme at camp is “Law Enforcement Officers are Your Friends!” Our campers play with and spend time with volunteer deputies throughout the week. This time together shows our campers they do have a friend in law enforcement who will stand up with them and for them. Camp helps them build healthy relationships while still having fun!

Our campers also learn positive life skills and the four “R’s” of camp: Respect Yourself, Respect Others, Respect Your Elders, and Respect the Environment. Our program continuously reinforces these ideas so campers will bring these values home with them once the week has ended.

One week of camp instills lifelong values and skills in a way that only camp can!

Many of our campers come from at-risk or low-income communities, and without your help, they would never get to experience summer camp.
