Polk County Back Roads to Roscoe’s & More – Finz Finds Rides
Here is a nice self-guided back road ride through Polk County, starting in Fort Meade and stopping at Roscoe’s Ole Time Drag Races and Swap Meet, then heading over to Fun Bike Center Motorsports and MoJo’s restaurant in Lakeland. Heading out of Fort Meade, you will take what are known as the mining roads up to Bartow. Agricola Road and Noralyn Mine Road are old Florida mining roads that are still used by the phosphate mining companies today. These roads have nice sweepers and are seldom visited by cars. I am always trying to let you know of roads less traveled and with little traffic. You can find many rides like this in my Finz Finds Master Guide Book of Florida.
Traveling a little farther north, you will end up at a place that is known for its old school Florida biker traditions. Throughout the year, Roscoe’s puts on several biker events. Roscoe’s Chili Challenge is in November, and now Roscoe’s Ole Time Drag Races and Swap Meet (Aug 13-14). Roscoe’s has a very loyal following of bikers. Come out to the Ole Time Drag Races and Swap Meet for an old school biker good time.
To continue the fun, head on over to Bike Fun Center Motorsports and MoJo’s restaurant. Fun Bike Center is a full-service motorcycle, ATV, scooter, and personal watercraft supercenter. If you’re looking for a good deal, this is the place. Mojo’s has an indoor and outdoor bar, a stage for live entertainment, and even an outdoor patio. Mojo’s has the best daily happy hour in Lakeland and great daily specials for both lunch and dinner. I am always trying to find you great destinations, and a better way of getting there.
