American Legion Riders Chapter 237 9th Annual Poker Run Raises $6,415 for Friends of Citrus and the Nature Coast, Topping $60,000 in Donations Since 2011

BEVERLY HILLS, Fla. — On Friday, February 15, available members of American Legion Riders Chapter 237, along with others from American Legion Post 237 in Beverly Hills, gathered at the Post to celebrate the $6,415 raised during their January 26 9th Annual Poker Run. They presented that amount to Friends of Citrus and the Nature Coast.

On hand to appreciate this creative group presentation and accept the donation were Friends of Citrus and the Nature Coast Executive Director Bonnie Saylor and Grief Services Manager Susan Quenelle.

All also celebrated the impressive $60,165 cumulative total of donations generated by Post 237’s annual poker runs since 2011.

This year’s event attracted 122 bikes and over 200 participants and featured stops at Crystal Harley-Davidson, Crystal River Eagles Aerie 4272, County Line Tavern, IRRU Family Social Club and Niko’s Roadhouse; a record amount and value of door prizes and silent auction items; food and supplies donated by Kentucky Fried Chicken in Dunnellon and Winn-Dixie in Crystal River served by Post 237 American Legion Auxiliary; and music donated by The Joe’s.
