High Tech Helmet

A Lid with AR Display and Alexa/Siri Support

Numerous motorcycle helmet companies have been attempting to introduce built-in “smart tech” features in recent years, with limited success. Yet the trend is inevitable. The latest to debut a smart helmet is Jarvish, a Taiwan company known for cutting-edge, user-friendly technology for riders.

Jarvish recently premiered two new models packed with rider aids, the X and X-AR motorcycle helmets, both of which will be available in 2019. The Jarvish X will include an integrated microphone and speakers, Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant support, and a 2K, forward-facing built-in camera for photo/video recording while riding. Price will be $799 when available on Kickstarter in January.

The Jarvish X-AR takes motorcycle helmets to a whole new level, but for a price. As well as the aforementioned standard features, the X-AR adds a Google heads-up augmented reality display for current mph, incoming phone calls, weather conditions, turn-by-turn directions, and even a rearview mirror-style video feed from a second rear-facing camera. Incredible technology. Incredible price point as well, at $2599 fully equipped. The X-AR won’t be available until later in 2019, according to reports.

Jarvish is already test-marketing and selling the 1st generation X helmet in Taiwan, ironing out any tech kinks, so the helmets should be in top shape and DOT & Snell- rated once they come available stateside in 2019.
