At the Cathedral of Speed, the young rider of the Sky Racing Team VR46 conquers the first points of the season. 12th Dennis Foggia after a great recovery.

Assen (Netherlands), July 1, 2018 – A good weekend for Sky Racing Team VR46 at the Dutch GP: after yesterday’s first row, Nicolò Bulega also conquers the first points of the 2018 season. A positive epilogue also for Dennis Foggia who closes 12th after a beautiful recovery.

Nicolò, third at the start, for a race contact in the traffic of the first corner, is forced to give up positions but does not lose contact with the group of strongest guys. After a series of overtaking till the checkered flag, crosses the finishing line in tenth place and collecting 6 points.

Still in the Top15, this time after recovery from the 28th to the 12th place, Dennis at his debut on the Dutch track. After taking full advantage of Friday’s free practices to become familiar with the trajectories of the track and the penalization in qualifying, he demonstrated on the track all his potential.

I’m happy to have closed the weekend with both riders in the points area. Since the beginning of the season, Nicoló has done a great job and it is a pleasure to see him again in the Top 10. Dennis also did a great race: he started, due to the penalization at the back of the group but he kept a good pace and he was one of the fastest riders on the track.

Conquering the Top10, the first points and close with just 9 tenths of a gap from the fourth is a good result. I had a good start but a race contact at the first corner forced me to give up some positions. Overall, as I said, I’m happy with the weekend: we made another step forward on the setting and we can still improve.

If I look at the standings I cannot be completely satisfied, but I have to consider the penalization of yesterday and the start from the 28th box of the grid. I gave my best to recover, I reached the second group and for some laps, I was one of the fastest on the track. Unfortunately, in the last laps, I lost feeling with the rear tyre and I could not recover other positions. I’m happy with the bike and we will continue to work to take another step forward on the setting.
