DIFFICULT HOME GP FOR THE SKY RACING TEAM VR46 AT MUGELLO_ S MOTO3

On the special livery inspired by the Italian flag, Nicolò Bulega crosses the finishing line at 21st place. Forced to retire, due to technical problems, Dennis Foggia.

Scarperia (Italy), June 3, 2018 – It was a more complicated Italian GP than we expected the one that just ended at Mugello for the riders of the Sky Racing Team VR46. Nicolò Bulega is 21st under the checkered flag, while Dennis Foggia is forced to retire during the seventh lap.

After a good start, from the 16th box of the grid, Nicolò was able to reach the first group at the tenth lap. Unfortunately, the lack of confidence with the rear tire, at mid-race, forced him to give positions to the strongest guys.

Protagonist of a good recovery Dennis Foggia who started from the end of the group in 27th place. After reaching the points area, he entered the pits for a technical problem on his KTM.
A difficult home GP: Dennis started strong but had a technical problem that forced him to retire. We have to analyze the data and understand what happened, but it’s a shame because he had a rhythm similar to the strongest guys. Nicolò was back to fight in the leading group, but from the middle of the race, he lost the confidence with the rear tire.
If I look at the position I cannot be satisfied, but I was back in the leading group, I did a lot of overtaking in the race, in front of the Mugello crowd and this is good news. I tried to do my 100%, but I started to lose the confidence with the tire and I could not do anything. Tomorrow we will still be on track for a testing and we expect to take another step on the stability of the bike with used tires.

I started from the back of the grid, but I tried not to lose positions and recover places. I was strong, and, from the wall, the Team signaled me a rhythm very similar to the first guys. I was with the riders who then they have closed in the Top5, but suddenly at the last corner, when I was getting ready to get out well on the straights, something happened to the bike. We still do not know exactly what happened, we have to analyze the data, but we do not give up.
