New North Hall Location Sets Stage for Most Memorable AIMExpo to Date
ORLANDO, Fla. (October 11, 2016) – The Fourth Annual American International Motorcycle Expo (AIMExpo) will commence from the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) in just a matter of days. Highlighting North America’s premier powersports trade show in 2016 is a move to the North Hall of the OCCC, which will host nearly 500 exhibitors and serves to enhance the overall AIMExpo experience thanks to its convenient location.
Of the hundreds of exhibitors set to fill the show floor inside the North Hall, 16 are OEM’s currently in preparations for some of the most anticipated unveilings at AIMExpo, many of which will serve as North American and global debuts. From returning manufacturers like BRP/Can-Am, Honda, Suzuki, and Yamaha, to new exhibitors like Aprilia, KTM, Piaggio, and Vespa, there will be a wide array of new models put under the spotlight in front of the media, industry, and consumers for the first time.
In addition to the excitement these exhibitors will generate with their introductions inside the OCCC is the complement of putting new models to the test at the adjacent AIMExpo Outdoors! The new North Hall location puts the exhibitor floor mere steps from the dedicated outdoor demo space, which will feature test rides of motorcycles, ATV’s, and side-by-sides from a large number of OEM’s, and will continue to house the hugely popular FREE motorcycle parking, along with exclusive motorcycle stunt shows.
While the introduction of new products will take center stage during the opening trade days of the four-day AIMExpo, they only scratch the surface of things to see and do. Alongside the newest models from the industry’s most well known manufacturers will be some of the finest custom bikes and vintage bikes in North America, each competing to be the best in show. The Championship of the Americas is the premier custom bike competition in all the Americas, open to builders from as far as Greenland and the southern tip of South America, all competing for a spot to represent the Americas in the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building in 2018.
Custom Culture at AIMExpo is a newly designed show element, created to recognize the growing influence and impact of the broader, younger, custom bike-building segment of the industry. Hosted by industry ambassadors Jason Paul Michaels and Leticia Cline, Custom Culture will provide a platform for this rising trend, featuring millennial artisans and bike builders, the Standard Motorcycle Co. Showcase, and Made in America, an exhibitor showcase of American ingenuity and craftsmanship. At Retro Affair: Vintage Motorcycle Show, which is presented in partnership with the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club, is a competitive showcase of historic, restored, and customized motorcycles from Europe, Japan, and the U.S. built before 1984.
Attendees will also have the chance to celebrate the country’s longstanding motorcycle heritage and racing as the American Motorcyclist Association honors the newest members of the Hall of Fame at its induction ceremony while the MotoAmerica roadracing series celebrates this season’s winners at their Night of Champions. Former World Champion and second-generation MotoGP legend Kenny Roberts, Jr., will be one of many celebrities on hand, serving as this year’s AIMExpo Champion, while the Legends & Heroes of Supercross display honors the legacy of the world’s premier off-road championship.
In addition to new product launches, the latest innovations being showcased on the show floor, and an expansive demo space outdoors, AIMExpo attendees will have the opportunity to connect with others throughout the industry at numerous networking events, while dealer attendees can take advantage of the unparalleled curriculum of the Powersports DEALER Seminars presented by Powersports Business during the two trade days of AIMExpo, October 13 & 14.
