IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 7, 2015 – Leave the guys behind this time. It’s women only at a special breakfast open to all females in the powersports industry, held at this year’s AIMExpo in Orlando.

It’ll be hosted by PowerLily, a growing, professional network committed to workplace equity, diversity and inclusion by helping companies in the powersports industry find capable, talented women. PowerLily is a Motorcycle Industry Council Aftermarket subcommittee, chaired by MIC Member Sarah Schilke, national marketing manager, BMW Motorrad.

“If you’re a woman in the powersports business, let’s talk,” Schilke said. “Start your AIMExpo weekend with us and get a quick update about an all-new PowerLily program for 2016. If you’re not a member yet, join us and learn how we’re aiming to expand opportunities for women in the powersports industry through a variety of programs to help you with professional growth, education and leadership opportunities. If you’re already a PowerLily member, enjoy some more great conversation and camaraderie, and make some new friends.”

The Motorcycle Industry Council exists to preserve, protect and promote motorcycling through government relations, communications and media relations, statistics and research, aftermarket programs, development of data communications standards, and activities surrounding technical and regulatory issues. As a not-for-profit, national industry association, the MIC seeks to support motorcyclists by representing manufacturers, distributors, dealers and retailers of motorcycles, scooters, ATVs, ROVs, motorcycle/ATV/ROV parts, accessories and related goods and services, and members of allied trades such as insurance, finance and investment companies, media companies and consultants.

The MIC is headquartered in Irvine, Calif., with a government relations office in metropolitan Washington, D.C. First called the MIC in 1970, the organization has been in operation since 1914. Visit the MIC at www.mic.org.
