Museum of Florida Art is Launching the Gallery Talk and Tour Series

Gallery Talk and Tour Series

This Thursday, August 30th, the Museum of Florida Art is launching the Gallery Talk and Tour Series. This series will feature guest speakers and artists to discuss the museum’s exhibitions. Purvis Young’s paintings are filled with symbolisms, floating heads with halos, figures with upraised arms, all painted on reclaimed materials. Known as an “Outsider Artist” Purvis painted continuously throughout his career producing thousands of paintings. We are excited to announce our first guest speaker, Ms. Wendy M. Blazier who will be discussing the current exhibition, From The Outside In, featuring the paintings of Purvis Young. Ms. Blazier is a published art historian and veteran museum professional who has been active in South Florida for more than 30 years as a museum curator, lecturer, juror, and strong advocate for today’s contemporary artists working in all media. You will not want to miss this opportunity to explore the works of Purvis Young.
