Dear Fellow American:

September 8, 2012, will mark the 8th year that the Central Florida Motorcycle community will show its support of the men, women and families of our Armed Forces when they take part in Central Florida’s largest fundraiser for the Greater Jacksonville Area USO (United Services Organization).

The Greater Jacksonville Area USO supports thousands of our active duty military personnel, National Guardsmen and Reservists and families throughout Florida and Southeast Georgia. Just a small snapshot of the many services provided, include:

  • Distribute nearly 15,000 USO Care Packages to deploying and front line combat service members
  • Operate free Cyber Cafes that allow junior ranked families to stay in touch with their active duty loved one deployed overseas in harm’s way — a significant impact on their quality of life and morale.
  • Provide free meals, twice monthly, before each military payday families of junior active duty service members often deployed overseas.  These junior military families struggle financially, living payday to payday.
  • Host hundreds of Family Support Groups, spouse organizations, education, job seeking seminars, and much more.
  • Please  visit:www.jaxuso.org, or on Face Book at www.facebook.com/jaxUSO.  These sources provide additional information and weekly updates on USO activities.

Greater Jacksonville Area USO is not a government agency and is an “Independent Chartered USO Affiliate Organization” that operates without operational funding from USO HQ or any federal, state or local government.  As a qualified not for profit 501(3)(c) agency, your tax deductible contribution is needed to support Greater Jacksonville Area USO in order to continue the support programs so vital to our active duty military and families’ quality of life and morale.

All the proceeds from the Jason Burnett Memorial USO Benefit Ride are collected by Greater Jacksonville Area USO support our “Care Package Program”.  Each $25 registration fee will provide a care package to be mailed to a front line combat service member.  This “care package” sends a message of unwavering support to our troops and provides them with a touch of home, all to show that we love and support them and appreciate their sacrifice.

Although Orlando Harley Davison South has already committed to the All American sponsorship level there are plenty of other opportunities for you to support this tremendous event — 100% of each rider’s registration benefits our military personnel in the field.

For more information please contact usobenefitride@yahoo.com or visit www.usobenefitride.com.  We appreciate your contribution toward making the 8th Annual Jason Burnett Memorial USO Benefit Ride an even bigger success and thank you for your support.

Together we can show our men and women in uniform that Central Florida supports them, cares about them, and appreciates their sacrifices.  God Bless our country and our active duty service members and families.

September 8 marks the 8Th Annual Jason Burnett Memorial USO Benefit Ride and we are extremely excited to have Orlando Harley-Davidson South as our newest sponsor.  This police-escorted motorcycle ride has an all-new, 60-mile route through Osceola County, beginning and ending at Orlando Harley-Davidson South on U.S. Highway 192 in Kissimmee, just 4 miles west of I-4. For each $25 donation, you will receive an event t-shirt, lunch by Carrabba’s Italian Grill, entertainment and opportunities for great door prizes and a silent auction.  All proceeds go directly toward supporting our troops and their families through the Greater Jacksonville USO which operates 3 of the 4 USO offices in Florida

Although this ride is held in support of all the men and women who are veterans or on active duty in our military, 2011 officially marks the year the ride name has been changed to the Jason Burnett Memorial USO Benefit Ride.  In 2006, L/Cpl. Jason Burnett, USMC, was the first Osceola County resident killed while serving his country during the War on Terrorism.  According to Ron Burnett, “There is a special place in the hearts of my family and myself for this benefit ride. We have supported the ride since the beginning and are extremely honored to have it dedicated to our son Jason.  If Jason were here today, he would say this was a great event and he would be grateful to everyone who made it a success.”

The Jason Burnett Memorial USO Benefit Ride is recognized throughout Florida as one of the largest fundraising events of its kind in support of the USO.  Even if you are not a rider, donation opportunities are available through www.usobenefitride.com  For more information, contact usobenefitride@yahoo.com, or go to www.usobenefitride.com
