Orlando, Fla. — April 16, 2015 — Harley-Davidson has supported the U.S. military, and the men and women who serve our nation, since 1916. In fact, during the first and second World Wars, the company produced bikes for military use, even earning the coveted Army-Navy “E” Award for wartime production during World War II.

In November, The Harley-Davidson Motor Company announced the giveaway of six new 2015 motorcycles to wounded veterans living with PTSD – allowing those veterans to select the model of their choice to then be built to their specifications. Peer-to-peer activities, like motorcycle riding, have been known to provide positive therapeutic benefits for PTSD.

Kyle Evans of Orlando is one of the veterans chosen to receive a motorcycle. Kyle served in the United States Army and was injured in Iraq in 2007. He is now a peer mentor for other veterans on their journey to recovery from PTSD. Kyle has been riding motorcycles for more than 12 years; however he recently had to sell his bike for financial reasons. Having the ability to ride again will be life-changing for him.

Kyle will receive his 2015 Road Glide Special at 3pm this Saturday, April 18th, during the Veterans Rock Party at Orlando Harley-Davidson. Orlando Harley-Davidson SVP and Chief Operating Officer, Kevin Seidl, will present Kyle with his motorcycle. “Orlando Harley-Davidson is proud to support our military and honored to partner with local veteran organizations such as Project Vet Relief and the USO who assist those who allow us to ride free. And as an Army veteran myself, I personally understand just how important this support can be to those who have served – past and present.”

Orlando Harley-Davidson invites everyone to attend this special event honoring Kyle. The Veterans Rock Party also includes food, drinks, music, veteran-related vendors, giveaways and a Star Spangled Banner Guitar Solo Competition. Admission and parking are free.

Orlando Harley-Davidson is located at 3770 37th Street, Orlando, FL 32805. For more information, visit www.OrlandoHarley.com.
